Battery-powered suitcases and hoverboards are among the items listed on the banned hand luggage list for UK flights. As we inch closer to summer, many people across Derbyshire will be gearing up to jet to picture-perfect holiday destinations.

As most airlines charge extra for hold luggage, it can be helpful to know what you can pack in a carry-on bag. Frequent travellers, or those going away for shorter breaks, often use hand luggage only, managing to squeeze everything they need into the smallest of bags.

However, as most people know, there are still restrictions on the amount of liquids you can take in your hand luggage, although this will change from 2024. Containers must hold no more than 100ml and they must be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm, reports Chronicle Live.
