Best ammo types to use in MW2 Warzone 2

One of the most nerve-wracking parts of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is figuring out what weapon attachments to use. Ammunition is only a single category of attachments you can put on a weapon in the Gunsmith, but it is one of the most important.

Here are the best ammo types to use in MW2 and Warzone 2.

While Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 differ considerably in their types of maps, gameplay styles, and even loadouts, they are fairly similar when it comes to ammo types. The different bullets and rounds you pick for your weapons can dramatically change how well a weapon works.

With so many different types of bullets, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out which ones to use. But if you plan on using an assault rifle, marksman rifle, shotgun, tactical rifle, or sniper rifle, you’ll want to consider the best ammo types for MW2 and Warzone 2 below, as they can enhance your power significantly.

If there is a single ammunition type you should remember to always use for your weapons, it is High-Velocity bullets. These are available for most assault rifles, sniper rifles, and some tactical and marksman rifles.

This is the best ammo type that you will find in both games, and they will do well in both. What these do is increase your bullet velocity, which sounds fancy and nice. In practice, what this means is that your gun will be more effective at shooting through walls, crates, doors, windows, and the like.

Basically, it makes your rounds more impactful but not necessarily stronger. This is more useful than you may realize. For instance, if you are in a fight and are about to take someone out, but then they duck behind a wall for cover, you can keep firing at them through the wall and there is a chance that your rounds will finish them off.

Exclusively recommended for Warzone 2 players, it's worth using armor-piercing rounds when you get the chance. These bullets are fantastic for rendering the armor of other players in battle royale useless. It will tear through armor much more quickly, letting you then take out their health faster.

If you are ever up against someone far away and they rip through your armor with ease before you can react, there is a strong possibility they are using these bullets.

Incendiary rounds are some of the rarest bullets you’ll find for weapons, but for the few that allow it, such as some shotguns, they are worth equipping in Warzone 2. They do exactly what they sound like, adding a fiery status effect to them, which will damage enemies beyond the normal amount from your rounds.

While I prefer high-velocity and armor-piercing bullets a bit more, Incendiaries are worth considering if you run a shotgun.
