At 7:15 a.m. Thursday, units responded to a report of a traffic crash on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville near the Hampton Inn. A vehicle with Indiana plates jumped a curb and struck a fire hydrant, according to the report. Officials from the Belmont County Water Department were also advised of the situation.

At 7:05 a.m. Thursday, an officer responded to an address on Whitely Street in Bridgeport to assist police with an assault case involving several individuals.

At 7:32 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported there were about five males who got into a fight in the area of the ball fields at Lynn Hunkler Park on Main Street in Morristown. Officers responded, but all parties left before units arrived.

At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from Lawrence Avenue in Tiltonsville came to the station to report a mailbox was stolen from an address on Locust Avenue in Brookside sometime last week. The mailbox had been missing since Thursday, they said. Information was taken for a report.

At 12:01 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from Ray Ramsay Road in Shadyside said he has a logging company cutting trees on his property, and a neighbor was making threats toward the loggers. Units responded and reported that all was settled.

At 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 218 issued a warning for speed to a Florida motorist.

At 7:23 a.m. Wednesday, a female from Old Winding Hill Road, Bellaire, came to the station to speak to a deputy, advising that she was not able to get away from her husband who she said was abusive. Units spoke with the woman and later located the male, who was taken into custody and transported to the Belmont County Jail.

At 1:57 a.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to a request for a follow-up with the Ohio State Highway Patrol at an address on East Main Street in Flushing for a road rage incident that had been reported earlier.

At 3:10 a.m. Monday, a complainant reported that while she was walking in the area of Belle Village Apartments on Patterson Hill Road, Bellaire, a man ran out of the woods, screamed at her and chased her down. Several units searched the immediate area but did not locate anyone.

At 11:36 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported there was someone screaming in the area of Epworth Park, North Main Street, Bethesda. Units checked the area and made contact with a male who was walking and advised he did not hear anything.

At 8 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported there was a "male with a language barrier" having a verbal altercation with the desk clerk at Tiger Mart on National Road in St. Clairsville. Units located the male — identified as being a resident of New York — and spoke with him. He reportedly was upset over a malfunction with the lottery system. It was explained to the male that he needed to contact the Ohio Lottery Commission as the clerk had no control over the technical malfunction, according to the report.

At 5:46 p.m. Sunday, a deputy assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in a blind turn on Sharon Road in Colerain. The deputy directed traffic until they got a gas can and moved out of the roadway and parked in a nearby lot.

At 1:37 p.m. Sunday, a sergeant on a traffic stop on the corner of U.S. 40 and Reservoir Road in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for stop sign and turn signal violations.

At 7:22 p.m. Saturday, complaints were received about loud fireworks on Creek Road, Martins Ferry. An officer spoke with the owner of the Double D Bar, and the owner stated that he would make sure that no more would be let off.

At 1:07 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported that a male on Willow Grove Road, Bellaire, let five pit bulls loose, and they were chasing kids. The caller's cat was attacked and badly injured, according to the report. Animal control was notified and responded to the call.

At 12:53 a.m. Saturday, officers were out with a female sitting in the grass behind the NAPA Auto Parts building on Bailey Road in Barnesville. The female said she was thrown out of a vehicle. The female was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in a Barnesville emergency medical service squad. She did not want to file any charges, according to the report.

At 12:13 p.m. Saturday, a complaint was received regarding two females allegedly trashing a room at America's Best Value Inn, National Road, St. Clairsville. Officers responded and advised there was no vandalism, according to the report, which stated that management gave approval for them to leave a broken-down vehicle there.

At 11:36 p.m. Friday, officers made a traffic stop on Main Street in Bridgeport. This was a "rolling domestic," and the male party exited the vehicle and headed westbound on U.S. 40 on foot. The male reportedly was mad at his girlfriend and refused a ride from her. An officer gave him a ride home.
