There appears to be a fair amount of confusion surrounding the Resident Evil 4 Remake day one DLC after separate item listings were discovered on certain storefronts. Considering that Resident Evil 4 Remake already has bonus content in its more expensive Digital Deluxe edition, it would be a bit naughty for Capcom to seemingly take even more out of the base game. So, check out the rest of this guide below if you need the Resident Evil 4 Remake day one DLC explained.
To make it clear, there has been no Resident Evil 4 Remake day one DLC explicitly announced so far, but additional item listings on storefronts like the Xbox store heavily hint at some items being purchasable at launch.
Understanding the distinction between Digital Deluxe 'Bonus Content' and items from the 'Extra DLC Pack' is key to this too.
Currently, there are only four items in the 'Bonus Content', being 'Classic' and 'Gold' versions of the Attaché Case, alongside 'Handgun Ammo' and 'Green Herb' charms. These four items do not have separate listings on the Xbox storefront, and thus are seemingly tied exclusively to the Deluxe Edition of the game.
On the other hand, all nine items found within the 'Extra DLC Pack' do have their own listings, implying that they will be able to be purchased individually after release. The naming of these as 'DLC' also heavily suggests this, but it is a bit more complicated than that.
At this current time, each of the supposed day one DLC items has no option to purchase it individually, with a label stating 'Not Available Separately' where the buy button should be.
Furthermore, the fact that it is described as a 'DLC Pack' could indicate that while they are not purchasable an individual items, the entire pack will be available to buy on release day.
Here is a full list of the items that could prove to be the Resident Evil 4 Remake day one DLC:
As you can see, most of these are cosmetic items, and while they should absolutely still be earnable in the base game, have no general impact on your gameplay. There are two additional new weapons too, which could very easily give you a gameplay advantage and be exclusive to this DLC pack. This is not a new thing to the series, as Resident Evil 3 Remake also sported DLC weapons, but it is not great to see content withheld.
Finally, the last item that is potentially concerning is the 'Treasure Map: Expanion'. On a base level, this map will just allow you to see all of the hidden treasures dotted throughout the game which is fine if you want to save the effort of finding them yourself. However, it also states that there are some treasures that can only be obtained by using this expansion map, which once again is withholding content for DLC.
That should give you everything you need to know about the potential Resident Evil 4 Remake day one DLC. In the meantime though, why not check out this Resident Evil 4 Remake release date guide to see all of the gameplay, trailers, and more.
