Two sent to hospital following oil tank explosion in Manchester

Two people were taken to the hospital following an oil tank explosion in Manchester on Thursday.

The two who were injured were working on the oil tank at Sandman's Automotive and Fabrication, located at 122 Hilliard St., when a torch ignited residue in the tank at about 10 a.m., according to the Manchester Fire Department.

Firefighters said the employees were taken to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries was not certain.

Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSCA) were expected to respond to the scene.
