Fall River Man Arrested With Alleged Illegal Firearm
FALL RIVER — Fall River police have arrested a city man for illegally possessing a firearm, which they said they found during an investigation into an alleged abuse prevention order violation.
Police said 25-year-old Malik Good has been arrested Tuesday on a litany of charges including violating an abuse prevention order, drug possession, and several firearms offenses.
According to police, an officer was investigating the potential violation of an abuse prevention order — also called a restraining or protective order — when he learned that Good likely had an illegal firearm.
Police said officers found Good at a local business on Tuesday and arrested him without incident.
During his arrest, a loaded Polymer 80 9mm firearm with a 17-round magazine was allegedly found in a fanny pack he had on his person, according to police.
Polymer 80 firearms, also known as 80%s, are a type of "ghost gun" or self-made firearm that is shipped in pieces or unfinished and then assembled or finished at home.
Good is charged with violating an Abuse Prevention Order, possessing a class B drug, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and having a large capacity firearm and ammunition.
