Nyamira County Referral Hospital Denies Claims Patients Are Buying Water

Nyamira County Referral Hospital has dismissed claims that its patients are being forced to buy water upon admission.

This follows damaging allegations made by social media users who re-shared an image of a woman at the institution's gate carrying a 20-litre jerrican believed to be containing water.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Dr Mokua Ombati, the hospital's medical superintendent, dispelled the reports and assured that there was adequate water flowing in the hospital, adding that they even supply a section of the public with the commodity since they have a surplus.

Ombati further asked Kenyans to remain confident in their services as a hospital despite the allegations made.

He slammed those spreading negative information about the hospital, calling on Kenyans to support the health sector to reach great heights.

However, a woman who was admitted to the hospital in April claimed that the facility had no water and was forced to buy gloves and a urine bag outside the hospital.
