Wild Hearts: How to Unlock More Weapons

After players complete the first chapter in Wild Hearts through a series of quests and construct a Field Forge, they can craft additional weapons.

For fans of Omega Force's new RPG Wild Hearts, unlocking new weapons is more complicated than simply visiting the Blacksmith. All eight of the weapon types in Wild Hearts are complex, powerful, and designed to suit different playstyles. Therefore, if players want to create unique fighting experiences in Wild Hearts, they'll want to unlock more weapons as quickly as possible.

While the Karakuri Katana introduced in Wild Hearts' prologue is a versatile weapon perfectly viable for taking players all the way through the game, they may want to unlock other weapon types. The game's versatility in weapon selection is actually how Wild Hearts proves it's not a monster hunter clone. After players complete the game's first chapter and construct a Field Forge, they can access additional weapons in Wild Hearts.

Soon after players meet Natsume the Blacksmith in Wild Hearts' intro, they'll be able to craft a Field Forge at their camp, which allows them to freely craft and upgrade their weapons and armor. Creating a Field Forge gives players a choice of four more weapon types: the Kaduchi, the Bow, the Maul, and the Bladed Wagasa. However, the remaining three weapon slots will still be locked, including the Hand Cannon (which is similar to the bow guns from Monster Hunter), the Claw Blade, and the Karakuri Staff.

The Hand Cannon in Wild Hearts is a standard point-and-shoot gun that can also fire an arced artillery blast that summons a Ki Base to refill its ammo. As the highest mobility weapon in the game, the dual Claw Blades are a fast-attacking aerial weapon that lets players latch onto enemies with a rope. Finally, the Karakuri Staff can take different forms during combat, which each teaches players a unique short combo chain.

In order to unlock these three new weapons in Wild Hearts, players have to complete the first chapter in the elegant and engrossing monster-hunting Wild Hearts, which involves several missions. The first of these missions require players to hunt the Kingtusk to unlock access to the village of Minato.

Then, after traveling to Natsukodachi Island, players will need to defeat the Spineglider and then continue on to defeat the Lavaback and the Gritdog. After players defeat the Earthshaker through story missions, they can speak to Natsume at the Forge, where the Claw Blade, the Hand Cannon, and the Karakuri Staff can now be crafted.

Once players have unlocked more weapons in Wild Hearts, they can try them out on a training dummy in Minato or at their starter camp. For fans anticipating playing Wild Hearts right now, they've got a bit of a journey before they can use every weapon in the game. Although there aren't many weapons currently available in Wild Hearts, the devs at Omega Force have revealed that new content updates are soon to come, which will add even more weapon types to the game.
